DAN CLARK
FOUNDER & TAIJUTSU INSTRUCTOR
Dan Clark (Omaha, Nebraska) has been training in martial arts for over 40 years. In 1991, Clark cofounded the Taijutsu Academy and mixed martial arts system, which he has remained a practitioner and teacher of since.
Martial arts training had a profound impact on Dan during his teenage years. He became obsessed with learning about and training in various martial arts systems, including Hapkido, Togakure Ninjutsu, Robert Bussey’s Warrior International, and Taijutsu/Mixed Martial Arts. Dan received his third-degree black belt in Ninjutsu, third-degree black belt in RBWI, and a black belt in Hapkido. He has studied under Dennis Clark, Suk Ki Shin, Lambert Doan, and Hatsumi Soke & Nagoto Sensei in Noda City, Japan. Dan was a multiple regional tournament champion in addition to winning the Gold medal at the Police & Fire Olympics for his division.
In addition to extensive martial arts training, Clark has many years of lived experience with hand to hand combat. He developed a Takedown and Ground Control defensive tactics system which was taught both locally and nationally. He instructs students, military personnel, and law enforcement officers internationally in Combatives, Defensive Tactics, Gun & Knife Defense, and Takedowns/Ground Control tactics. Clark believes that effective martial arts training can decrease the use of lethal force in combative or self-defense situations, and hopes to equip others with the skills that they need to practice effective self-defense.
Dan has a passion for helping his students to reach their goals in martial arts. (A number of Dan’s former students have gone on to compete in MMA/UFC with success or became coaches themselves!) He also believes that martial arts training is a practice that betters the whole person, and he loves the confidence, self-respect, and mental transformation that martial arts training can provide.
