JOHN LESLIE HANSEN
LEAD JUJITSU INSTRUCTOR
John Leslie Hansen (Council Bluffs, Iowa) is a five-time BJJ and Submission Wrestling world champion, making him the most accomplished grappler in the Omaha metro. At 18 years old, he became interested in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and began reading, watching, and practicing Jiu-Jitsu at home. Three years later, he began training and has remained a committed practitioner for the last 16 years.
Hansen was invited to the ADCC World Championships in both 2019 and 2022 where he won Silver at the West Coast Trails (2019) and Bronze at East Coast Trails (2022). John has won three United World Wrestling championships (this is the same organization that sanctions Olympic Wrestling.) He has also earned a Bronze and a Silver at the Adult Blackbelt level of the IBJJF No-Gi world championship. Hansen was a member of Team Modolfo at the 2023 AIGA where he won the AIGA Champions League.
Hansen is passionate about leading his students to meet their highest level of aptitude, as well as finding ways to encourage them to meet their own unlocked potential. He is most proud of the accomplishments of our Pedigo team at Dojo Omaha- including 20 World Championship Golds and members on four different USA World Teams. John’s dream is that one day, one of his students exceeds his own level of success. John teaches at the adult level and leads the competition program at Dojo Omaha.
Outside of the Dojo, John lives and works in the Omaha metro with his wife Christina Hansen, whom John cites as the cornerstone of his support system. He enjoys reading, learning, and working.
